CHOICE Review

Hoffman, Fredrick, and Petry (Bentley College Center for Business Ethics) edit a collection of conference papers that emphasizes business responsibility for the protection of the environment: the development of a corporate conscience is the predominant theme. The volume is divided into four sections titled "Business, Ethics, and the Environment: An Overview"; "Corporations and the Environment: Cases and Analyses"; "New Corporate Strategies for Controlling Environmental Risks"; and "Looking to the Future: New Approaches to the Problems of Business, Ethics, and the Environment." The essays reflect an eclectic perspective ranging from academic to professional. The writing style is intense and assumes a knowledge of the subject matter and the cases and articles cited. Where applicable, excellent use is made of charts and graphs. For business professionals and students at the upper-division and graduate levels. -S. R. Kahn, University of Cincinnati
