School Library Journal Review

PreS An addition to the series that includes Teddy Bear Baker (1980) and Teddy Bear Postman (1982, both Warne), this is a gentle British story about a day in the life of the lovable Teddy Bear Farmer. He rises early in the morning and, accompanied by his splendid dog, proceeds benignly through the day. The charming pastel watercolors are lovingly rendered and set the overall tone for this mild, quiet story. American children may need help understanding some terms, like milk lorry and churns of milk. Some adults will deplore the lack of a strong ending, but the read-to-me set will think that ``And that is the story of the Teddy Bear Farmer'' sounds exactly right.Anne Hoyt Sutter, Alexandria Lib . , Va.
