Library Journal Review

Starred Review. Van Lustbader continues Ludlum's series by successfully expanding the adventures of the generally sympathetic international assassin Jason Bourne. The author uses an almost too plausible bioterrorist threat and adds a very personal dimension to Jason's troubles, drawing upon the past and Jason's amnesia to put his alter ego Daniel Webb in harm's way. There is much that is predictable here as the story moves to the inevitable intertwining of its major plot lines, but the characters shift alliances and loyalties so ingenuously that the book remains intriguing and very entertaining. Scott Brick carefully employs a limited number of accents for the worldwide cast, not overdoing or stereotyping too much. For Bourne lovers, Van Lustbader has opened the series up for distinctly new possibilities.
